Course Description: Male Batterer Intervention (MBI) is an equivalent program to BIPP (Batterer Intervention Prevention Program) that provides wisdom and understanding to the current rise in family violence (i.e., IPV, or PCV) and how family violence impacts the addictive process of male batterers. Male Batterers are men who are unable to control their anger in heightened stressful situations and react in explosive ways.
Goal: This course is designed to help provide tools to reduce stress and anger expressions that are destructive. This class will help provide wisdom and understanding of the pathology of male battering and provide therapeutic treatment (i.e., Knowledge, Wisdom, and Prudence) to break the cycle of abuse.
Behavioral Objectives:
- Course participants will have a clear understanding of family violence, the effects it has on the victim, children, and the perpetrator.
- Course participants will have a clear understanding of healthy intimate relationships and be able to provide a strong male role model for their children as a result.
- Course participants will gain skills in problems solving, emotional and feeling management, parenting, and self-control.
